What is e-bilanz?
The e-bilanz, or e-balance sheet, is a balance sheet in electronic form. It is mandatory for certain taxpayers under ACCORDING ss portion 5b of the German Income Tax Law to submit their balance sheets with their income statements in an electronic format to the control authority. This reporting obligation started in 2014.
Who is obliged to submit e-bilanz?
In Germany, the e-bilanz is required for traders and non-traders who have a turnover of at least EUR 60,000 in a calendar year or a profit of at least EUR 600,000 in a calendar year. The e-bilanz is submitted via the XBRL data format.
What is the e-bilanz taxonomy?
The e-bilanz is a format of financial reporting which has been defined by the Federal Ministry of Finance. This taxonomy is based on a special scheme and can be changed annually. In order to comply with e-bilanz reporting, every general ledger account must be mapped to the taxonomy.
Mapping the e-bilanz is a complex process because each taxonomy has its own data requirements. For example, the e-bilanz is different for banks and insurance companies than it is for real estate companies.
How do I map the e-bilanz?
To map the e-bilanz, you need to make sure that your accounting software supports the XBRL data format. You also need to ensure that all general ledger accounts are mapped to the taxonomy, and that you use the correct e-bilanz account code.
BILANZ publishes an annual report rating, which is the largest independent assessment for annual reports in Switzerland. The ratings are based on 35 defined criteria for transparency, information on the company’s strategy and products, the business review and outlook, economical key figures and ecological and social aspects.
