The Landmark is a high rise residential condo building that was completed in 1991 and contains 275 condominiums on 27 floors. It’s one of the largest buildings on Prospect Avenue.
In an interview with Patch, Village Manager Chris Steers said he issued the summons because the building had a number of violations and the condo board did not comply with the building department’s requests. He said that the building was not tested for fire sprinkling in years and had other issues.
The Landmark has had electricians and plumbers work on the building to comply with the building department’s requests, but Steers said the Village did not feel he was making progress in bringing the building up to code. He said that he had been trying to work with the condos board of directors to expedite their process but that they did not respond quickly enough.
