Fenbendazole is an effective treatment that eliminates numerous parasites in your dog’s/cat’s system. It is a broad spectrum methylcarbamate benzimidazole anthelmintic that is well known to eradicate many intestinal worms including roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis) and some tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis).
In addition to eliminating these worms, fenbendazole has also been found to effectively treat certain pulmonary helminth infections. It is commonly used to treat giardia in dogs and cats. Additionally, it has been shown to be a very effective drug in treating the gastrointestinal trematode disease caused by the pinworm Paragonimus laevigatus.
Furthermore, fenbendazole has been reported to be effective in reducing airway inflammation associated with ovalbumin exposure. In one study, fenbendazole was administered to BALB/c mice prior to and after ovalbumin exposure, and the percentage of blood and goblet cells that contained eosinophils were significantly reduced. Additionally, levels of ovalbumin-specific IgG1 antibody in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were also significantly decreased with fenbendazole treatment.
In a more recent experiment, the authors demonstrated that increasing concentrations of fenbendazole had significant cytostatic effects on EMT6 tumors in vivo. These results were in agreement with their cell culture data, which showed that EMT6 tumors exhibited a dose-dependent inhibition of growth by fenbendazole. Moreover, fenbendazole was shown to have a significant impact on promoting the formation of apoptotic structures in the cancer cells, suggesting that fenbendazole acts as a potent inhibitor of cell growth at high concentrations and with longer incubation periods. fenbendazole capsules
